Jamillia Afeluyi

Hi! My name is Jamillia, and I am a dedicated and compassionate social worker student with a passion for helping individuals achieve positive mental health outcomes by navigating the challenges of anxiety, depression, and life transitions. I am pursuing a master's in social work at the University of Memphis; I bring a solid foundation in cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing. My proficiency in cognitive behavioral therapy helps the client identify and modify negative thought patterns to promote emotional well-being. Motivational interviewing has taught me practical communication skills to inspire and guide clients toward positive behavioral changes. As an intern, I am eager to apply my knowledge and skills in a real-world setting, explicitly focusing on individuals grappling with anxiety, depression, and life transitions. I look forward to making a meaningful impact in the lives of those seeking support.
